But it's not insurance -- it's a discount program. So we thought you might have questions about how the program works.

There are different ways to sign up and buy your card. Some people get a promo code through work to sign up directly with us. Other people enroll through work, so they don't need a promo code. If you're not sure which group you belong in, check with your employer.

When you use a promo code and sign up directly with us, you have three options:

  1. Enter your code to sign up online.
  2. Call customer service at 1-866-368-4825.
  3. Print and fill out our enrollment form. Or use the form included with the brochure you received through work. Return the completed form with your payment to: Aetna® Vital Savings, 7400 Gaylord Parkway, Frisco, TX 75034.

When you don't use a promo code and sign up through work instead:

Ask your employer for an enrollment form to complete, and return it to them.

Signing up with us:

You can pay by card, bank draft or check.

If you pay by credit or debit card or bank draft, we charge you the stated amount for the "Family" or "Member only" program.

  • Yearly: You're billed for the year when you sign up. Then, you're automatically billed 12 months later by the same method.
  • Monthly: With a card, your account is charged on or around the 10th of the month. You'll see "VITAL SAVINGS-AETNA 866-36-VITAL" on your statement. If you pay with a bank draft, funds are taken from your account on or about the 7th of the month. You'll see "AETNA-VS" on your statement.

Your Aetna® Vital Savings card renews automatically with these types of payments.

If you pay by a personal check, you pay for the whole year. And we send you a bill for the next year before your renewal date. Then, just mail us your check before this date to stay enrolled.

Signing up through work:

You pay through a payroll deduction. Check with your employer to get started.

Because Aetna® Vital Savings isn't insurance, no medical information is needed. And there are no copays, deductibles, claims forms, waiting periods or age restrictions, either.

No, there are no start-up fees for buying the card, as long as you're being offered the program by your employer.

No, the program is only for people who don't already have a dental plan.

Because Aetna® Vital Savings is supported by the Aetna Dental Access® network, you have about 262,000+ Providers/Locations to choose from nationwide.1

That depends. If you sign up for a "Family" program, everyone in your immediate family currently living with you can use the card for discounts. If you sign up for a "Member Only" program, you're the only one who can use the card.

Within 48 hours of receiving your payment, we put your ID card in the mail.

We know you can't wait to start saving, but you'll have to wait for your card. We mail it out within 48 hours of receiving payment. Once you get your ID card, you can start using the discounts.

There are no limits on how often you can use Aetna® Vital Savings discounts, as long as your card is valid.

It's a good idea to mention the program when you make an appointment. And also when you use any of the discounts on healthy products and services. This way, you can be sure you're using a participating discount provider, one who accepts your card.

No, discounts are available only through participating dentists. If your current dentist is in the network, just show your ID card to receive your discounts.

No. Your vision discounts may not be combined with any specials or in-store promotions. But ask the eye care center to compare the two to see which one saves you more.

Yes, for the most part, show your card and pay when you use a service. But if you made different arrangements with the discount provider, just pay according to what you both agreed on.

No problem. If it's a dentist, ask the office staff to call us. Our customer service reps can provide any information they need:

If it's an eye care office, let them know the program is available through EyeMed Vision Care. If they still have questions, they can call their EyeMed Vision Care helpline.

Dentists charge a discounted amount that's based on several factors, including where they're located. Once you sign up for your member website, use our online tool to compare average costs for dental services in your area.

You sure can. If you're not 100% satisfied for any reason within the first 30 days, you can cancel. You'll receive a refund of anything you've paid.

Signing up through work:

If you originally signed up for the program at work, check with your employer about how to cancel.

Print an information change form. Return the completed form to the address on the form.
